HEIDI BOHN | MEMBER-AT-LARGE
|
Heidi is a 9th generation New Englander who grew up the daughter of a veterinarian and has been around and loved animals her entire life. Born in Massachusetts, she mostly grew up in New Hampshire after a brief foray in Minnesota. As an adult she migrated to Vermont, then back to Massachusetts, interspersed with living and traveling around the world, eternally finding joy in the animals she meets across the globe.
Heidi holds a B.A. in Sociology and Spanish from Keene State College and a M.A. in International Education from the School for International Training/SIT Graduate Institute. She works at Amherst College and lives in New Salem with her partner, Vincent, rescue cats, Leonardo (adopted from Belchertown Animal Control!) and Whiskey, as well as some very hilarious chickens. Heidi started volunteering with BARC toward the very inception after moving to Belchertown. Initially a way to engage with her new community and support animals, she has watched the organization grow with the unmatched backing of the community and seen countless animals rescued, helped, adopted, and treated over the last decade plus. |
